Fans of the hit TV-show Monster Garage, seen in Australia on Discovery Channel on cable and satellite TV, should watch out for a guest appearance by Sirona's CEREC CAD/CAM system.
Each week on Monster Garage, a team of custom car fanatics have a week to take ordinary everyday automobiles and turn them into extraordinary - and fully functional - monster machines that still appear to be standard. And spend no more than $3,000 on parts in the process.
Whether it's making a fire-breathing, turf-rocket lawn mower that can trim grass at 60 mph from a 1990 Ford Mustang convertible to changing a compact car into a snow mobile, the show never fails to deliver the goods for car enthusiasts the world over.
The Monster Garage, of course, features an array of heavy machinery and accidents do happen. When one of the workers was using a handheld grinder and lost control of it accidentally, it sprung up and broke a lateral (but fortunately nothing else).
The solution for a broken "chopper" in the Monster Garage was obvious! A high tech CEREC restoration was just what the doctor ordered. And in true Hollywood style, the CEREC 3 system was wheeled into the garage and the restoration done on the spot (by a dentist of course!).
