Zirkonzahn now offers Titan 5 ASTM standardized titanium blanks with a degree of hardness of 5 and in seven different heights (10-25 mm) for Zirkonzahn milling units. The range of possible applications comprises any kind of metal primary structures and restorations, from single crowns to 14-unit bridges. Thanks to its high degree of hardness, bar and implant constructions can now be created with Zirkonzahn Titan 5. The Zirkonzahn titanium blanks can be processed with the milling units M1 Wet Heavy, M4 and M5 and they can be veneered with all commercially available titanium ceramics. The milling procedure of a single unit takes from 30 to 40 minutes, depending on the milling unit used.

Nowadays, hard metals are widely used in dentistry. Titanium and Cobalt Chrome (CoCr) alloys offer a broad range of applications and can hence be used for the manufacturing of a multitude of dental restorations. This presents an advantage, because the smaller the amount of alloy in the mouth of the patient, the better is the absorption by the body.

Titanium has been successfully used for many years in medicine as well as in dental implant surgery. It is considered one of the most health-friendly materials that exists. This is due to its corrosion resistance and the naturally emerging oxide layer on the surface which favours the solid growth of bone onto the implant (i.e. osseointegration).
