Dental cavities (caries) and gum disease are caused by the build-up of plaque bacteria, a sticky bacteria deposit which grows on the teeth and gums. TePe have developed Plaqsearch to locate the areas that have been affected by plaque deposits and to help you show your patients where brushing needs to be directed or improved. Plaqsearch's combination of two specially chosen dyes identifies new and old plaque by different coloured staining. New plaque is stained red and older plaque blue. Plaqsearch is available in fruit-flavoured chew-tabs (surgery pack 250pcs or patient pack 10 pcs) and in-surgery professional liquid (60mL) (Warning - may stain clothing and upholstery. Contains food-dyes - Erythrosine free. Children under 12 years should be supervised).
