Wisbey Dental expands distribution

Wisbey Dental has broadened its distribution network for several of its key product lines as part of continued expansion.

Its popular range of Velopex x-ray film processors will now be available through Henry Schein Halas Equipment in Australia and Henry Schein Regional or Shalfoon Dental in New Zealand. The chemistry for the processors will be available through either Halas Dental or Henry Schein Regional.

The innovative Implanteo implant motor will now be exclusively sold by Halas Dental in Australia and Shalfoon Dental in New Zealand while the Aquacut water curtained air abrasion system is now available either through Henry Schein Halas Equipment or Wisbey Dental direct.

"The formation of this strategic relationship with Australia's largest dental group will ensure even greater success for our product range due to increased exposure and increased availability," said Managing Director Greg Wisbey. "These products are all well established, trusted and respected in the market and will now benefit from the experience of an expanded sales and marketing team.

"As a small, Australian-owned family company, we are excited to be involved with a very dynamic international organisation that can assist us in delivering the very best quality products to the market efficiently and effectively."

Mr Wisbey said the company's other product lines including Gnatus dental units, Aseptico portable dental equipment, SS White burs, Micro Mega handpieces, and Hammacher instruments would continue to be sold direct.

Wisbey Dental was formed in 1979 as J. Wisbey & Associates Pty Ltd by James (Greg's father and a radiographer) and Shirley Wisbey. The initial focus of the company was to import and distribute dental instruments.

Within five years, the company had broadened it's range to include a selection of dental x-ray film processors and chemistry, finding a niche as the first company in Australia to specifically focus on the dental x-ray market. As a fully qualified Radiographer, Jim Wisbey's understanding and familiarity of the x-ray world was a tremendous asset to the company, enabling it to focus on providing specialist technical x-ray information to dentists in both Australia and New Zealand.

Over the intervening years, the product range has evolved to include a wide variety of well-known name brand items from a broad selection of international manufacturers and suppliers.

The current Managing Director Greg Wisbey took over operations of the company in 1999 and brought with him many years of experience in Australian export trading to the family business. Having lived and worked in a number of regional and South East Asian countries, he was able to expand the company's operations into some of the most vibrant and exciting growth markets in the world.

Today, the family owned and operated Wisbey Dental distributes throughout Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands, and various South East Asian countries.
