US factory tour a highlight for A-dec dealers

A-dec's international headquarters in the United States recently hosted a visit by around 25 A-dec dealer representatives, product specialists, territory managers and A-dec certified service technicians from Australia.

The visit included tours of the extensive worldwide manufacturing facility located just outside Newberg, Oregon and a glimpse of the new equipment and dental cabinetry earmarked for release in 2006.

The group also inspected the W&H handpiece service facility and received an overview of other ancillary equipment currently under evaluation for the international market.

A-dec Australia Sales and Marketing Manager, Stephen Jennings, said the group also received product training in the latest line of A-dec Preference Slimline™ dental cabinetry and delivery systems scheduled for release in 2006.

According to Mr Jennings, the visit proved highly popular with A-dec's Australian dealer representatives - some of whom had never seen the manufacturing facility. "We have been overwhelmed with positive feedback from the group and the in-depth factory tours were quite an eyeopener for some.

"More than one dealer made the comment that the sheer amount of high quality components, modern technology and sheer man hours - including hand machining and hand finishing of individual components - reconfirmed their belief that A-dec equipment is the best in the world.

"They also expressed the view that the equipment represents unmatched value for money compared to competitors offerings, given A-dec's superior built-in features, leading edge design and the outstanding service life of the finished product", Mr Jennings said.

Another highlight of the week-long visit was a reception dinner hosted by company founder, Ken Austin and his wife, Joan who met each of the dealer representatives and personally presented them with certificates for the successful completion of the product training course.

The group also saw first hand A-dec's humble origins in a cramped army style hut which has been preserved on the A-dec campus - a far cry from the A-dec of today which is America's largest dental equipment manufacturer and a world leader in the industry.

Owners Ken and Joan Austin continue to lead the company, which for four decades has maintained a reputation for quality and innovation. A-dec today employs more than 1000 people and A-dec equipment is sold by dealer representatives in more than 100 countries.
