The incredible W&H Lisa steriliser has celebrated its 20th birthday!

With more than 60,000 units sold worldwide, Lisa was - and continues to be - one of the greatest sterilisers ever produced. It is also a steriliser with a unique personality and a strong following.

Now entering its fifth iteration, Lisa earned a reputation as a "smart" steriliser, bringing innovations such as an Eco function back in 2005, which allowed Lisa to adjust the drying time based on its load. With this new feature, Lisa was renamed: "Lisa 500".

Five years on, after mastering the task on its own, Lisa became known as "Lisa Fully Auto", with the drying function "Eco Dry" becoming fully automatic without the need for operator intervention.

A traceability function was also added to make the link between the instrument, sterilisation cycle and patient by automatically capturing Batch Code Information for download to a USB drive or attached computer.

In 2017, with the launch of the new "Lisa VA" in Australia, Lisa made the leap into the digital age with Eco Dry+ and a Lisa app for web-based remote monitoring of up to four Lisa sterilisers over the internet.

Among its many innovations, Lisa was the only steriliser designed with an inbuilt air leak detector, giving greater confidence in the sterilisation cycle and reducing the need for Helix and Bowie Dick tests to once-weekly instead of daily. This alone made it a favourite among clinical staff.

Further innovations are planned in 2020 with the new slogan: Lisa "incredible inside - incredible outside" including the introduction of inbuilt artificial intelligence and enhanced communication interactively via the Lisa user app.
