Team Discus on the road

Following Discus Dental's launch of direct operations in Australia and New Zealand on March 1, the company has moved into its new headquarters in the Sydney suburb of Rydalmere and now has a full team of sales reps on the road.

"We've been busy assembling our sales and support team over the last two months as well as trying to meet the demands of our existing customers," said Eric Lehl, sales director for Australia and New Zealand. "We now have four sales consultants in our head office and three representatives in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

"The sales consultants all have dental nursing experience and want to work in a fast-paced and exciting company. They have been great so far and have just completed product training with Dr Marilyn Ward, a prominent dentist from Houston, Texas."

Mr Lehl said that demand for their signature chairside and take home teeth whitening products (Zoom!, Day White, Nite White, etc) was increasing as they make contact with dentists familiar with the products.

"We are slowly raising our profile in the market through sales calls, direct mail, advertising and participation in trade shows and other activities. Dentists in particular are surprised to find great prices on Splash [impression material], Flashlite [LED curing light]and Zoom2 lamps which are proving popular.

"Our aim in the first couple of months is to let dentists know who we are and how we can be contacted. We have sent several product mailers and have an extensive advertising campaign planned in the coming months. We are also going to have a presence at the ADX in Melbourne with some great buys for those in attendance."
