Sydney dentist pays $52 million for house

Sydney dentist and founder of Southern Cross Dental Laboratories, David Penn, has reportedly paid $52 million for Villa Veneto, a harbour-front property located in Sydney's exclusive Point Piper.

This price trumps the previous record for a Sydney property, the $45 million paid in 2008 for a beachfront home in Vaucluse. The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom Villa Veneto, in Wolseley Rd, Point Piper - Australia's most expensive street - is a five-storey house completed in 2004. It took two years to build, at a cost of $15 million.
