The new Dentaurum Universal 230 Autocast casting system was recently installed in the ceramics lab of Peter Vyronis in Melbourne. This machine is like no other available as it will cast any metal or alloy including Titanium with all melting done completely under argon gas. Casting is done in a vacuum.
"This machine is truly revolutionary," Mr Vyronis said. "The ability to cast any metal or alloy is truly remarkable. It will allow us to save a huge amount of time in many areas.
"Due to the machine's unique vacuum casing system, spruing techniques can be greatly simplified. This not only saves time but also saves metal.
"The state of the art arc melting system done purely under argon gas is very efficient and helps give a superior casting without using excess argon so it is also economic to use.
"One of the amazing features of this unit is that the Titanium casting process is completely automatic. Select the amount of Titanium you want to cast, load the machine and presto, it's done. All the parameters for the casting of Titanium are preprogrammed. It could not be easier. Of course conventional dental alloys are easily cast as well and the number of castings per hour is staggering.
"One of the major things I like about the Autocast Universal 230 is the chamber is free of moving parts so this is a very low maintenance machine. From a safety point of view, it could not be faulted so training staff on the use of the machine is quick and safe. I am delighted."
