Sirona Dental Systems have stepped up to support The Spastic Centre and the many dedicated dentists who volunteer their time to ensure people with Cerebral Palsy receive adequate dental care with a donation of equipment to Mona Vale Hospital.
A group of Sydney dentists generously give up their time to work on disabled people from The Spastic Centre out of the Hospital and a clinic in Allambie Heights and Sirona has donated a mobile treatment cart with all handpieces and accessories while Dürr contributed towards a mobile suction system. Sirona has also previously donated x-ray equipment to the cause.
Mona Vale Hospital provides its facilities free of charge but is grossly under funded and this kind of service is needed in order to ensure disadvantaged people from the community receive adequate dental care.
Dr John Cooney, Chairman of the Dental Panel which coordinates volunteer dentists for the project, is thrilled to have received this equipment and commented that he can't believe the quality of the products and hence the results.
"Our contribution is humble compared to all the dentists who donate so much of their time," said Mr Tim Carse, Managing Director of Sirona Dental Systems. "We are proud to be able to assist and to be associated with such a worthwhile project."
