Since the relaunch of the corporate website and the start of social media activities in April 2012, dental equipment manufacturer Sirona has recorded a continuous increase in "Likes" on Facebook. On September 25, the company reached a total of 100,000 fans on this platform. "Social networks enable us to make our communication even more active, involve our users in communication, and engage in direct dialogue with users, interested dentists and dental technicians, as well as with our dealer partners. Our Facebook page plays a key role in this," says Jürgen Serafin, Vice President Corporate Marketing in the Sirona Group. "We are even more pleased that we have achieved an extraordinary milestone with 100,000 fans in our core markets." Sirona shows its Facebook fans just how happy it is in a very interesting way: A competition is currently underway on Sirona's Facebook page with the chance for fans to win one of three instruments, specially engraved with the winner's name. Each winner thus receives a unique, personalized instrument for use in their dental practice.
Facebook: Addressing interested parties in a number of languages
The rapid growth of nearly 4,000 Facebook fans on average per month proves Sirona's innovative leadership, since 2012 in social media communication as well. In addition to the Corporate Blog, which contains all the news about the company, Sirona is now successfully active on a total of nine online platforms. These include the social networks Twitter, Pinterest and Google+, as well as business platforms such as LinkedIn and Xing. There is also a YouTube channel with over 300 video clips. "Of our social media communication, the Sirona Facebook page is one of the most important channels for exchanging information with our target groups. Informing our customers about our products is just half the battle at best – we consider it more important to listen to them carefully, learn from them, and develop a greater understanding of their needs. To do this, we need to be open to dialogue. As the market leader we cannot view communication as a one-way street," says Andreas Blauig, Corporate Social Media Manager at Sirona. The company has posts on Facebook in a total of 11 languages – including German, English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Korean, and Japanese – for fans and interested parties all around the world. The contents and posts use regional targeting to address users, cooperation partners, and all other parties interested in Sirona. This means that every user sees only the contents that are interesting for him or her.
Exciting apps add new incentives
It is not only the number itself, it is also the geographic distribution of fans that makes Sirona one of the most successful dental companies on Facebook. Major dental markets such as USA, Germany, Brazil, Japan, France and many more are included. The Facebook website stands out due to the variety of its contents and high level of activity. By sharing content, photo galleries, and videos on Facebook, Sirona demonstrates its focus on customers and passion for technology and innovation. The Facebook page gives users up-to-date news and information on new products and innovations as well as user opinions – in the form of press releases, event coverage, corporate news, video tutorials, and external content such as blogs. Interactive apps, like the "Sirona SoundCheck App" for which Sirona has already been nominated for the German Prize for Online Communication 2014, regularly give users new incentives to engage in dialogue with Sirona and its professional community.
