Remineralisation technology spinoff

Biodental Remin Limited, a spin-off company of Biodental Technologies Pty Ltd, is preparing to list with the Australian Small Scale Offerings Board.

The company is commercialising an extremely versatile tooth remineralising technology. According to Managing Director Tim Erskine-Smith, the new material is synergistic with fluoride, but even without fluoride, it rapidly increases surface hardness and can produce deep remineralisation.

Under the name Enamelguard®, the remineralising material will be the basis for a range of toothpastes, creams, gels and mouthwashes to be released later this year. Professional Enamelguard materials and in-office procedures are the company's initial focus.

Dr Ian McIntosh, Director of Business Development, said that Enamelguard is highly soluble and tasteless so that it can be used in a wide range of gums, confectionery, acidic beverages, veterinary products and functional foods.
