The world's leading manufacturer of packaging systems demonstrates its talent for design. With its outstanding and innovative design hawo's compact rotary sealer hm 780 DC-V impressed in one of the most renowned design competitions in the world.
In this year's red dot award: product design 2012 the hm 780 DC-V was awarded the "red dot" seal of quality for high design quality by a distinguished panel of experts.
Increasing demands for patient safety in medical facilities require cost-effective and professional solutions in the field of instrument preparation and packaging. The compact rotary sealers including printer were specifically designed for use in clinics and surgeries with a medium turnover of instruments.
For years hawo has been placing great emphasis on a combination of innovation in technology and design. "Winning the red dot design award is a reaffirmation and fresh motivation to rely on outstanding product design and our trust in the encouragement from our customers," said Christian Wolf, Managing Director and Head of Product Development at device manufacturer hawo, of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.
The model hm 780 DC-V (V=validatable) monitors the process parameters sealing temperature, speed and contact pressure and thus meets the current requirements of the German Society for Sterile Supply (DGSV) Guideline for the Validation of the Sealing Process.
"We want to offer users a professional, easy to use and, above all, safe working solution. Therefore, in this series particular focus was placed on the new control function hawo IntelligentScan. The function allows a straightforward operation of the device using a barcode scanner. Important data such as employee numbers or product names can be captured directly. The information is automatically assigned to the corresponding print function. "The size of the printed packaging labels is automatically adjusted to the width of the sealing material by the standard FontMatic printing technology" explained Christian Wolf, managing director of hawo.
This year designers and companies from more than 58 nations participated in the red dot award: product design with a total of 4,515 products.
On the hunt for the coveted and widely recognized red dot - the seal of quality for aesthetic shapes and sustainable trends - the 30 strong jury of international experts had the task of examining all the products submitted. They tested and scored the products, as always, live and on site in the town of Essen. Ultimately only the best of the high-quality field of participants were able to prevail. The award will be presented on 2 July at the red dot gala in Essen. Traditionally, more than 1,000 international guests from design, business, politics and media congregate that evening in the Essen Aalto Theatre to celebrate together at the red dot gala.
