TrollDental received a tremendous response from the recently completed LMEcoAct campaign for 2009, and now have a large quantity of instruments in fair to good condition to be recycled.
General Manager Rachael Rose stated "We had a large number of used instruments returned during the campaign, which are still in very reasonable condition. One donation, for example, included two amalgamators, miscellaneous surgery items such a stainless steel kidney dishes and a large number of endo files. Our first objective now is to make these available to various charity organisations, or other philanthropic dental programs, so that the instruments may be given a second life. More importantly, so that they may be used to improve the oral health and therefore general health of disadvantaged communities. When we have run this campaign in the past we have had instruments going to India, Nepal, East Timor and the Cook and Cocos Islands, among other destinations." If you know of a project which may benefit from a donation of used instruments, please contact Rachael Rose directly on (02) 6628-6776 or email rrose@trolldental.com.au. Any instruments deemed unsuitable for further dental use will be made available for general use for various technicians, artisans and people in repair businesses for a gold coin donation. Anyone wishing to make a donation for instruments in this category should also contact Ms Rose. All monetary donations for instruments will be passed on to Operation Cleft - a project run through the Rotary Club of Box Hill Vic to provide corrective surgery for children and young people afflicted with cleft palate in Bangladesh.
