Rayvettie first with new Dentaurum Power Laser

Rayvettie Dental Laboratory in the Sydney-suburb of Lakemba is the first dental lab in Australia to install the new Dentaurum Power Laser. The desktop laser welding unit offers new performance levels over previous models and is capable of welding any type of dental metal/alloy and is tailored to each alloy's individual requirements.

Mr Norman Abboud, proprietor and owner of the full service laboratory specialising in chrome cobalt, crown and bridge, orthodontics and acrylic has been considering the purchase of a laser welder for many years.

"We're a small but extremely busy Laboratory consisting of three Technicians," said Mr Abboud. "We consider that our success is due to the fact that we work hard and we work smart and we are proud of the high quality work that we produce.

"I have found that the laser welder has enabled us to increase our work output and the work is of a much higher standard. The finish of the job is extraordinary.

"In addition to this, the time saving factor is incredible. For example, last week, due to a problem with an initial poor impression, a 6-unit bridge would not fit correctly. Normally this would require stripping the ceramic, soldering the metal and then rebuilding the ceramic again - a process that would take at least 6 hours.

"With the Laser Welder, all I needed to do was cut the section, laser it and reapply the ceramics, taking only 45 minutes. Another example, a Crozat appliance that would normally take 4 hours, I can make in 40 minutes. I feel that the time saving factor alone warrants my purchase. I don't know how I lived without it."
