The training facility for dental technicians in NSW is currently undergoing a major upgrade. The campus at Randwick TAFE has been training dental technicians since July 1977.
Recently one of the main laboratories was gutted and completely refitted with new benches, dust extraction and handpieces. Freuding benches were supplied and fitted by Argibond.
For more than 30 years, Freuding products have been well known in the dental field. High-quality design has made Freuding, throughout the years, into a leading supplier of furnishings in the dental field throughout Europe and overseas.
26 Frueding Teaching Workstations were custom made and installed to fit the space constraints. All workstations have stainless steel tops; overhead lighting, gas taps, compressed air nozzles and electrical connections. Drawers and storage spaces complete the unit.
For dust extraction, an integrated Zubler system was used and services all the workstations from a single point. Three FZ10 extraction units service the entire facility. Different types of pegs and dust extraction hoods can be slotted into position to suit the operator.
The project was completed over 3 days during a semester break so classes would not be interrupted. The refit is an ongoing project and the second laboratory will be finished shortly followed by the ceramics and casting area.
