Practice management the perfect Christmas gift

Dentevents has commenced distributing a range of practice management educational products by mail order to assist dentists and their staff who want to learn in the comfort of their own homes or practices. The range of products includes Audio CDs, DVDs and books so far from US-based Jennifer de St Georges and Linda Miles and local consultant Kathleen Mackellar. Negotiations are also underway with several other prominent consultants.

"Practice management consulting is really still in its infancy in Australia and New Zealand," said Ms Terri Slough, manager of Dentevents. "There are many world class consultants and programs on offer here, but perhaps only 10% of practices have participated in any kind of management training.

"The practices who already work with consultants or who regularly attend lectures on the subject seem to universally benefit in the short and long term, but for those who are not yet convinced, this range of products may help."

Ms Slough said that some of their product range were unique to the local market while other products, such as Linda Miles' range, were widely available overseas.

"We now have an exclusive arrangement in place with Linda Miles for distribution in Australia, New Zealand and Asia and we essentially sell her products for the Australian dollar equivalent of the price they sell for in the US. The big difference is that we include shipping in the price and will deliver it in a more timely fashion as we keep stock in Australia.

"We are also building a very diverse range of products from several consulants so if there is someone in particular you enjoy, then you will be able to access a number of their products. Or, if you want to try seeing, hearing or reading someone new, then we offer that as well. In the past, if you wanted to order these products, you could only do so from overseas which can be problematic and you would have to spend time researching what was available. Now everything you need is in one place.
