Nobel Biocare introduces Edentulous Jaw concept

Completely edentulous jaws are a much more widespread handicap than most of us realize.

Indeed, 6-10 per cent of the total world population is edentulous in both jaws. Major barriers for solving the problem with implant-secured prosthetic solutions are the perceived complexity and high treatment cost.

With a choice of three unique and efficient protocols forming Nobel Biocare's Edentulous Jaws concept for all edentulous jaw indications, this no longer needs to be the case. More dentists will be able to treat the problem and more patients will prevent bone loss and be able to enjoy a renewed quality of life.

Based on Nobel Biocare's pioneering Immediate Function capability and developed by Dr Paulo Malo, "All-on-4" is a predictable procedure where posterior implants are tilted to facilitate an optimal prosthetic support that can be functioning within just a few hours. The "Branemark System Zygoma" protocol is intended for extreme upper jaw cases with severe bone resorption and the "Overdenture" solution is a simple and less expensive means of securing new or existing dentures with implants.

All three treatment alternatives provide patients with added value compared to regular dentures and mean that complicated bone grafting procedures can be avoided.
