Nobel Biocare establishes Operations and Process Excellence Committee, Frank Mengis to join Nobel Biocare at a later point

Nobel Biocare's Board of Directors and management has established an Operations and Process Excellence Committee.

This new committee will be led by the recently elected Board member, Juha Raisanen, and will also include Nobel Biocare's CEO, Richard T. Laube, Walter Ritter, Global Head Operations ad interim, and the Global Heads of Research, Products and Development, Legal and Compliance, and Quality. The Operations and Process Excellence Committee will implement state-of-the-art tools and programs to drive a change and efficiency improvement program across the organization.

On 6 March 2012, Nobel Biocare appointed Frank Mengis as Senior Vice President Operations and member of its Executive Committee, effective 1 July 2012. However, Nobel Biocare has learned that Frank Mengis's current employer has chosen to enforce a non-competition clause contained in its employment agreement with Frank Mengis and that an ex parte ruling was upheld by the responsible court in Basel-Stadt, Switzerland. Nobel Biocare has been informed that Frank Mengis will appeal this decision. It is still unlikely, though, that Frank Mengis will be able to take up his new position at Nobel Biocare on the originally planned date. While Nobel Biocare looks forward to Frank Mengis joining its executive team in the near future, it does not expect this delay to impact the running of its business.
