Dental ED in conjunction with Amalgadent and 3M ESPE is presenting the event of the year, a series of lectures and hands-on courses with renowned Brazilian aesthetic dentist, Newton Fahl, during August in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. This represents an opportunity to learn from the world's recognized leader in composite artistry in this event that concentrates on creating anterior masterpieces.
"Dr Newton Fahl is considered as the world's best and whenever he has visited Australia, his lectures have been well attended. This time around, however, attendees will be given a more practical insight into his techniques so the afternoon session of the event will be devoted to a hands-on program.
The course will include a step-by-step procedural approach to solving day-today anterior direct restorative challenges which include shade selection, colour mapping, colour mock-up, tooth preparation, composite resin selection and artistic implementation. In his presentation, Dr Fahl brings composite restorations to an art form, from invisible class IV restorations, direct veneers and diastema closure to the non-orthodontic correction of mis-aligned teeth.
The afternoon hands-on program will provide the dentist with hands-on instruction in how to conservatively, effectively and artistically perform aesthetic direct anterior composite restorations based on principles of emulating proper form, colour and with state-of-the-art composite resin systems.
Exercises will involve the restoration of a large Class IV build-up and a direct resin veneer on upper central incisors. Correct shade selection as well as efficient material placement to create polychromatic, life-like, invisible restorations will be covered. Finishing and polishing procedures including the armamentarium necessary to achieve an ideal match with the restored tooth and the adjacent dentition will be presented.
The program is offered as a morning lecture only; or morning lecture plus afternoon hands-on session. Notes, models, instruments, materials and equipment for the afternoon hands-on session are provided together with lunch and afternoon tea.
