Oral-B Braun has appointed Christian Staberhofer as professional relations manager, replacing Gary Wong who resigned in April. Mr Staberhofer was previously with bio-tech life science chemical supplier, Sigma Aldrich, as national sales and marketing manager.
He has a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Chemistry from Monash University; has completed the research and experimentation component of a PhD in Chemistry at Melbourne University and is in the process of completing the resultant thesis. "My position at Oral-B Braun is to manage the professional relations team and to be the principal point of contact for dental professionals. It is a challenging role for me as it involves dealing with a new market though I imagine working with dental professionals will be similar in many ways to the scientists in my previous roles." Mr Staberhofer, now 35, was born in New Guinea when it was still an Australian Territory to parents of Austrian decent. He speaks fluent German and attributes his slight accent to time spent living overseas as a child. "Working with Oral-B Braun is a good opportunity to learn more about an area where I have only had limited exposure. I am looking forward to the challenge."
