3M ESPE announces the launch during July of Imprint™ 4 Bite, a VPS bite registration material with outstanding properties for an efficient workflow and highly accurate results. The new material for occlusal recording replaces the existing Imprint Bite VPS Bite Registration Material. It is regarded as a perfect addition to the family of Imprint™ 4 VPS Impression Materials for preliminary and precision impressions.
Imprint 4 Bite VPS material is suited for open and closed bite occlusal registration. Provided in a cartridge for common hand dispensers, the product allows for simple and convenient mixing and can be dispensed directly in the patient's mouth. Once applied, its beneficial flow behavior ensures that every important detail is captured with high accuracy, while a relatively high viscosity prevents the bite registration material from flowing deep into interdental spaces. For optimised workflows and high patient comfort, the material offers a convenient working time of 20 seconds and a short setting time of 60 seconds which also leads to a minimised risk of inaccuracies due to jaw movements during setting. After setting, the material obtains a high final hardness and rigidity so that trimming of the bite registration and its correct positioning on the model is easily possible.
Imprint 4 Bite VPS material in its light-blue color is scannable and allows for optical registration of occlusal data for CAD/CAM systems. This is also the case for Imprint™ 4 Preliminary VPS Preliminary Impression Material, which will be available as of July 2014 as well. Both materials are designed to add control, speed, and convenience to everyday procedures and complement the successful family of Imprint™ 4 VPS Impression Materials for precision impressions.
