New Head of R&D for Wieland

Wieland Dental + Technik GmbH & Co. KG has appointed Dr Sascha Cramer von Clausbruch as its new head of Research and Development.


The 41-year old assumes responsibility primarily for the areas of materials development and dental CAD/CAM technology at the German-based manufacturer. He was previously employed at Amann Girrbach GmbH where he had been head of R & D since 2002. "Dr von Clausbruch is an experienced and acknowledged expert who will be a great asset to our company," said Wieland's CEO, Torsten Schwafert. "He has a record of vision and innovation in matters of dental technology. This makes him a good match for Wieland. We are looking forward to working with him to develop new potential in the digitisation of dental processes." Dr von Clausbruch started his career at Ivoclar Vivadent in Liechtenstein and has since been actively engaged in the development of innovative materials and laboratory equipment. He studied materials science at Saarland University in Saarbrücken, Germany majoring in metallic materials, glass chemistry and ceramics and received his doctorate from the Clausthal University of Technology, also in Germany.
