The Dental Community website www.dentalcommunity.com.au has added a new discussion forums module that allows groups of dental practitioners to discuss information online in a structured and moderated environment.
"Forums are popular because they allow questions to be asked and problems presented for comment by like-minded people with the aim of finding a solution based on shared experiences and existing knowledge," said Dental Community publisher, Joseph Allbeury.
"One of the best features of an online forum is that a topic can be discussed rapidly, tapping into first hand experience and information not readily accessible elsewhere. There are many highly knowledgeable and experienced practitioners not involved in training or educating other practitioners, for example and forums are a great way to tap into this knowledge in response to specific situations."
We need your help!
"We've launched this great new feature in the Dental Community and now need practitioners to make use of it," Mr Allbeury said. "All a dentist needs is to obtain their FREE username and password for the Dental Community website and login."
Join a discussion group!
"You can create a new discussion or view and post to existing discussions. We are looking to set-up discussion groups around certain subjects, like Digital Dentistry for example, to facilitate discussion on technologies such as intraoral scanning and CAD/CAM where the players and machines are changing rapidly and there is a real need for comments from users."
If you would like to participate in a discussion, email joseph@dentist.com.au to receive your FREE login and instructions on how to access and participate in the discussion forums.
