New Challenger units mark 60th anniversary

A completely new range of Australian-made dental units will be released at ADX Melbourne 2006 to mark the 60th anniversary of William Green Pty Ltd. The Challenger name is an historic marque for the company but the new range is exactly that.

"We've been working tirelessly on the new Challenger series for some time now and it is fitting to release it to coincide with our 60th year in business," said Managing Director John Green. "As Australia's only manufacturer of dental units, we have a unique insight into the requirements of the local market. While our products are world class, they are designed to perfectly match the exacting standards local clinicians demand."

There will initially be four models in the Challenger range that will reflect different price points and levels of features. Each will be manufactured at the company's plant in the Sydney suburb of Rydalmere. The units will continue to be matched with the Italian-made Technodent chairs.

"It's been 8 years since we launched the Tantus range [which will remain in production as will the Eco], so it was time at least for a facelift," Mr Green said. "On the surface, the new Challenger series has been designed to be more aesthetically appealing to the contemporary practitioner. Inside however, the units have been upgraded to reflect the latest developments and new technologies.

"We have essentially built on all the successes we have had in the past in terms of reliability and functionality and then made improvements and added new features."

The initial offering in the Challenger Series will include the budget priced Challenger CS; the Challenger VS featuring more electronics; the Challenger MX that incorporates the new Bien Air brushless motor; and the top of the range Challenger Optima MX with a Bien Air torque control motor ideal for implants and endodontics.

The company will also offer the stylish new Technodent Lite chair with the top end of the range.

"The Challenger series includes models for the price conscious starting from $19,000 that includes the chair, unit, light, an air motor and GST to models for the very sophisticated operator," Mr Green said. "All are built on a platform of reliability and serviceability that will ensure minimal downtime for our customers.

"We've field tested them over the last several months in our customer's practices and the feed back has been very positive. We encourage everyone considering purchasing new equipment to consider this new Australian developed and manufactured unit that is world class with very local factory direct support."
