Australia's largest specialist medical and dental finance company, Medfin, hardly needed to drive traffic to their stand at FDI Sydney 2003, but it seems they didn't want to take any chances just in case.
Ever the innovators in exhibition promotions, Medfin devoted much of their floor space to two Formula 1 racing car simulators with hundreds of people queuing to try their luck as the next Michael Schumacher.
According to Medfin marketing coordinator, Sarah Robinson, both F1 Racing car simulators were built under licence from Jaguar Racing and are fully authentic in size and shape.
"There are only two of these simulators in all of Australia," Ms Robinson said, "and we had them both! One was a Ferrari and the other styled as a MacLaren Mercedes. They're very realistic and I believe real F1 driver's actually use these for training.
"They were great fun and very popular with the crowd. Some people waited up to 40 minutes to have a go!"
Medfin also gave away a radio-controlled F1 Ferrari. 608 visitors entered the competition with Dr Frank Tan from NSW being drawn as the eventual winner.
