LM's EcoAct Campaign returns for 2009

Over the past few years, Finland's popular LM Instruments have run an environmentally inspired campaign to reuse and recycle old and worn dental instruments.

Offering a substantial 30% discount on new LM Instruments as an incentive, dentists are encouraged to send in their old unwanted instruments - any brand and in any condition. Instruments of reasonable quality are sterilised, sharpened and made available for use in dental projects in developing and under-privileged countries via various charities and other organisations. Those instruments which are past their useful life find new homes with various artisans and technicians from the region for a small donation. Donations this year will be forwarded to Operation Cleft, a Victoria-based charity which funds cleft palate operations in countries such as Bangladesh and Laos.
