Lifecore implants seeks local distributor

Distribution News

A local distributor is sought in the Australian market for U.S. implant manufacturer, Lifecore Biomedical. Lifecore are seeking to expand their global distribution and make their state-of-the-art product range available downunder.

Lifecore is an established leader in the use of RBM surface technology for the enhanced osseointegration of dental implants. Its RBM implant has been in clinical use throughout the world since 1997 and has achieved a high level of clinical acceptance and success.

During the past ten years, numerous studies have been conducted to identify an enhanced surface geometry to increase mechanical stability and bone-to-implant contact. This scientific evidence conclusively supports that the roughened titanium implant surface provides significantly improved bone anchoring than a traditional machined titanium surface.

Based on this research, Lifecore's RBM surface was specifically developed to provide a uniform roughness and enhanced surface for osseointegration.

According to the company, Lifecore's RBM surface is superior to "machined" surface implants. The use of a biocompatible media of calcium phosphate ceramic is used for surface roughening. A proven overall success rate exceeding 99% in everyday clinical practice is the result of Lifecore's innovation. There is also peace of mind in knowing the surface is free of residual debris and that the CP3 titanium implant has twice the load carrying capacity of CP1 implants to provide greater prosthetic connection strength.

Lifecore's RBM surface offers approximately 250% greater surface roughness (Ra) than a traditional machined surface, enabling a substantial increase in mechanical bone interlock. Lifecore's range of products includes the Two-Stage Precision External Hex Implant System, Lifecore® STAGE-1™ Single Stage Implant System and guided tissue regeneration products. Lifecore also offers surgical and restorative versatility for the dentist to choose from five different diameters ranging from 3.3 to 6.0mm.
