Koelnmesse subsidiary in Singapore expands its Board of Directors

Effective 1 June 2016, Mathias Kuepper, 40, will join the Board of Directors of Koelmesse subsidiary, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, Singapore. His management activities will focus on the staging of Koelnmesse events in Southeast Asia and the expansion of business activities in the region. In dentistry, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd organises the biennial IDEM Singapore International Dental Exhibition and Meeting. Parent company Koelnmesse GmbH organises IDS biennially in Cologne, Germany.

"With the appointment of Mathias Kuepper as the Managing Director of our subsidiary, we are filling this position with an experienced manager from our own ranks," says Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH. "In doing so, we are laying the groundwork for the sustained positive development of our activities in the Asian-Pacific trade fair market, which plays a major role in our long-term internationalization strategy."

As Managing Director, Kuepper will work together with Michael Dreyer, who has held this position since 2002 and will continue to be extensively involved in the expansion of Koelnmesse's activities in the Asian market in his position as Vice President of Koelnmesse Asia Pacific.

Mathias Kuepper, who has a degree in economic geography, began his career at Koelnmesse in 2002. He has extensive knowledge of event and project management as well as many years of experience with strategic business development in Asia. To date, he has served in the Koelnmesse representative offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing. Before being appointed Managing Director of Koelnmesse Pte., Ltd., Singapore, he was the subsidiary's General Manager.

Koelnmesse organizes and supervises around 80 trade fairs, exhibitions, guest events and special events in Cologne and in the most important markets worldwide. Apart from IDEM Singapore, subsidiary Koelnmesse Pte Ltd stages various leading trade fairs for the Southeast Asia region including THAIFEX - World of Food Asia (a trade show for the food and beverage industry) and EmTech Asia, the world's most important conference for emerging technologies.
