Injection provided for pain relief

Research into pain management and the development of anaesthetic and analgesic drugs have been given a boost with the injection of $300,000 from Tattersall's to support the work of anaesthesia specialists at Monash University.

The Depart of Anaesthesia is the only full university department of this specialty in Victoria and is a prime training and research ground into the understanding of the mechanisms of pain. The head of the department, Professor Colin Goodchild, is a world leader in the emerging field of pain medicine, which combines a range of medical disciplines to achieve pain relief.
