Henry Schein Halas hosted its inaugural E4D Digital Dentistry Symposium on Hamilton Island in August. The 3-day event was designed to allow current users of the E4D chairside CAD/CAM system to share their experiences and gain invaluable best practice knowledge.
The eight speakers who delivered presentations at the event were well-received and included Dr Raahib Dudhia, Dr Richard Eilenberg, Ms Heather Hennen, Associate Professor Max Guazzato, Dr Michael Ho, Dr Graeme Milicich, Dr Ed Suh and Stavros Zervas.
"Utilising the latest CAD/CAM Technology to scan intraorally and have the ability to mill restorations in-house using proven materials is an added advantage to any practice," said Quentin Daniels, E4D Business Development Manager at Henry Schein Halas.
"Being able to deliver high quality restorations to the patient in the same appointment is very exciting. The delegates were able to learn from some of the most successful E4D practitioners from around the world. Having this number of highly qualified professionals at the same conference was a great opportunity for delegates to gain the most from their experience."
On the Saturday of the event, auxiliary staff split into a private workshop with Heather Hennen, who demonstrated how the whole team can be involved in the digital dentistry process, a win-win situation for any practice.
After a long but eventful day, delegates and partners were treated to an ocean view outdoor dinner where the tropical resort atmosphere of Hamilton Island really shone.
Light music coupled with motivational speaker Andrew Hoggard ensured a great time was had by all. During the evening, a special award was given to Dr Scott Heather from Queensland for being the 100th user of the E4D system in Australia; similarly, South Australian dentist Dr John Schaefer was honoured as the very first E4D user in Australia.
Bright and early on Sunday morning, the hands on workshops commenced, with a focus on getting the best aesthetics from E4D restorations.
Henry Schein Halas was pleased to host this prestigious event and look forward to hosting future digital dentistry events.
