IDS 2017 is just around the corner and the 37th year of the world's largest dental show promises to thrill visitors once again with numerous innovations to enhance everyday work in the dental lab.
For anyone interested in dental technology, one special highlight among the innovations will undoubtedly be Dentsply Sirona's trade show exhibition. The company will amalgamate all its dental technology skills at a joint booth featuring multiple brands in Hall 11.2. Trade fair attendees will find innovative and established products not only from Dentsply Sirona CAD/CAM (legacy Sirona Dental) but also from Dentsply Sirona Prosthetics (legacy DENTSPLY DeguDent) and Dentsply Sirona Implants (legacy DENTSPLY Implants).
Representing the entire spectrum of modern dental technology, including exciting new ideas emerging from the field of analogue production and the latest innovations in digital workflows and custom systems specially designed for implant prosthetics. Those who visit the booth, for example, can explore in detail the inLab SW 16.0 CAD and CAM software with its new modules and functions. Other innovation materials will be at the booth as well: Dentsply Sirona Prosthetics will present Celtra Press, a material version of its extremely durable zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate (ZLS) glass ceramic shaped in the press, as well as Cercon xt, an even more translucent version of its well-established zirconia featuring True Color technology.
Regarding working metals on the 5-axis milling machine inLab MC X5, Dentsply Sirona CAD/CAM has the latest solutions, such as the production of titanium abutments or the new inCoris CCB sintering metal disks. The new inLab CAD software 16.0 adds to inLab's already broad range of uses. It provides new indications, tools and functions, as well as optional add-on implant systems and a generally improved design workflow.
Finally, the products made by Atlantis from Dentsply Sirona Implants round off the range with individually manufactured CAD/CAM abutments. This includes the new Atlantis CustomBase solution, combining an Atlantis abutment tailored to the patient's individual needs with a channel allowing restorations to be screwed in place. The crown can be designed precisely in the lab's CAD/CAM system thanks to a corresponding CoreFile dataset.
The Atlantis bridge and hybrid titanium constructions made by means of additive manufacturing offer various types of surface retention for the facing, which includes a greater surface area for improved retention when adding composite veneers. The new cell retention surface, for example, provides up to 60 percent more adhesive area than a conventional surface.
Whatever their specialty, dental technicians can find solutions to nearly all of the issues they face in the lab on a daily basis at the Dentsply Sirona booth in Hall 11.2 – along with competent on-the-spot guidance and product demonstrations!
