The results of a 3-year study released at the last IADR meeting in Brisbane concluded that Heraeus Kulzer's iBond was as effective as a 3-step adhesive system.
The randomized clinical trial compared iBond with another all-in-one adhesive and a 3-step adhesive in the treatment of cervical lesions.
The restorations were evaluated regarding marginal integrity and postoperative sensitivity. The authors concluded that "Within the limits of this clinical trial, we can conclude that the performance of the three adhesives were excellent, showing no significant differences between the two all-in-one bonding systems that worked as well as a three-step."
These results confirm many previous studies which have found that iBond shows excellent marginal adaption, desensitising action and demonstrates higher bonding characteristics than other tested all-in-one adhesives.
iBond was the world's first, self-etching, one component, no mix, all-in-one 7th Generation dental adhesive. iBond is suitable for bonding direct and indirect composite restorations, compomers, ormecers, amalgam, polyglas and porcelain restorations, providing bond strengths to enamel and dentine of between 18 and 25mpa.
iBond simultaneously etches, primes, bonds and desensitises the cavity preparation, maximises patient comfort and rationalises the working process.
iBond is a light curing adhesive and contains standard photoinitiators for optimum compatibility with different curing lights and systems. It contains 4-META which is well known for its affinity to metal and calcium.
iBond also contains the active ingredient of the clinically proven and award winning desensitising product, Gluma Desensitizer. It penetrates and seals the dentinal tubules, providing an effective and long lasting solution to post operative sensitivity.
Available in either a 4ml bottle or single dose capsules, iBond continues to be the all-in-one bond of choice for those wanting the best result.
