High Tech Laser has announced the launch of the Fotona Fidelis III hard and soft tissue laser - the world's only laser drill. The system is to be officially launched at IDS 2007 (International Dental Show 2007) on March 20-24 but Australian dentists are set to get a sneak peak of the system a week early at the ADA Congress exhibition.
The new Fidelis III has been shown to perform as fast as a drill in hard tissue, meaning that the Fidelis III will allow dentists to perform laser cavity preparation in the same appointment time as they could with a high-speed drill," said Matt Moncrief, managing director of High Tech Laser Australia. "This provides dentists with the ability to achieve the added treatment benefits and profitability of laser dentistry without having to sacrifice appointment time."
The Fidelis III has a new touch screen interface with pre-set treatment programs for ease of use. The treatment programs are set for commonly performed treatments and allow the laser to be ready to deliver the precise treatment power at the touch of a button.
Self-contained, digital air and water control allows the system to be easily moved between treatment rooms. "This makes it easy for multiple practitioners to share use of the system and thus increase the return on investment for the practice," he said.
The Fidelis III will be on show at the ADA Congress exhibition or it can be seen at upcoming laser dentistry workshops that High Tech Laser will be conducting in the near future.
