As of March 1st 2012 the Business Group Heraeus Dental of the precious metals and technology group Heraeus, headquartered in Hanau, Germany, has acquired all shares of Biomain AB in Helsingborg, Sweden.
With this acquisition Heraeus strengthens its presence in the Northern European Dental CAD/CAM market and extends its patent and product portfolio in digital implant prosthetics.
Biomain AB is the Scandinavian market leader in the field of customized CAD/CAM-based implant borne prosthetics. The company was founded in 2002 and manufactures highly precise CAD/CAM frameworks, suprastructures and prosthetic components in its production and development center in Helsingborg, Sweden. Heraeus Dental is a globally leading supplier of materials and solutions for dentists and dental technicians, offering a broad range of products for a variety of applications. With its offering of customized industrially CAD/CAM manufactured solutions under the cara brand Heraeus provides dental laboratories and dentists access to modern CAD/CAM technology. A perfect match, technologically and geographically
With the acquisition of BioMediFace SA in 2011 Heraeus has started to further expand its CAD/CAM business in Southern Europe. The acquisition of Biomain AB now strengthens Heraeus' presence in the Northern European CAD/CAM market and at the same time expands its patent and product portfolio in digital implant borne prosthetics. "We are impressed by the outstanding technical and manufacturing expertise as well as the spirit of the Biomain staff", Dr. Martin Schuster, Head of Division Prosthetics at Heraeus Kulzer GmbH, stated. "Technologically and geographically Biomain ideally complements the range of our cara brand. The high level of quality and service orientation of the Swedish specialists also perfectly matches our high standards."
The former main owners of Biomain, founder Jerry Wiener and entrepreneur Joachim Samuelsson, are equally convinced: "The competences, product ranges and regional strengths of Heraeus and Biomain ideally complement each other. Our customers in the dental labs will enormously benefit from that."
Familiar contacts, new opportunities
All contact persons and offers for the customers of Biomain and Heraeus remain unchanged. In the future, dental labs will benefit from new possibilities in digital implant prosthetics.
