One Australian and two New Zealanders are part of a group of 75 students worldwide who were selected to receive US$1,500 each to assist with university expenses through Henry Schein's 2004 Worldwide Scholarship Program.
Henry Schein, Inc., the largest supplier of healthcare products and services in the combined North American and European markets, offers the scholarships to students to attend a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited college, university or vocational school.
Scholarship recipients are the eligible children of the Company's employees, known as Team Schein Members. Recipients were chosen by an independent scholarship administrator on the basis of academic performance, leadership skills, participation in school and community activities, work experience and a statement of career and educational goals.
Founded in 2001, the Company's scholarship program works to assist Team Schein Members with the costs of higher education for their dependent children. The recipients in the local region this year were Rekha Ganeshalingam and Iain C. Morrison from Auckland and Catherine L. Howland from Adelaide.
