Educational program provider Dental ED is again presenting an exciting range of options to learn from leading US aesthetics expert, Dr Ed McLaren.
As the Founder and Director of the UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) School for Esthetic Dental Design and the Director of the UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry, Dr McLaren has extensive experience of the newest aesthetic restorative systems. He also maintains a private practice specialising in prosthodontics and aesthetic dentistry, where he creates, makes and uses his own ceramics.
In July and August, Dr McLaren will present The Complete Hands-On Course Series A to Z of Anterior and Posterior Ceramic Restorations and Advanced Digital Photography and Shade Analysis in Brisbane and Melbourne.
The increase in demand from patients for teeth that look lifelike and natural requires a thorough understanding of morphology, inherent colourations and function. Conservative preparations of anterior and posterior teeth require an understanding of how porcelain functions in an oral environment, particularly in view of the stresses and strains teeth need to endure. These concepts are introduced and reinforced in this program so that dental technicians and dentists can restore the integrity of the natural tooth with asymptomatic and predictable results. This requires an understanding of the limitations and biocompatibility of ceramic restorations when bonding such materials to tooth structure. Different problems require different solutions, which are discussed thoroughly during this course.
In addition, the use of digital photography to plan treatment and educate patients is integral to success. Digital transference of accurate information regarding shade, lip position and smile is essential in order to create "beautiful smiles". It is paramount to document your work and show your patients how they look with their new, improved smiles - thanks to your dedicated expertise.
Options to participate include a 2-day hands-on Advanced Digital Photography and Shade Analysis program (25-26 July in Melbourne); A full day lecture only in Brisbane (July 24) or Melbourne (July 31) on Hot Topics in Aesthetics, Dental Ceramics and Restorative Dentistry; or a 3-day hands-on course in Melbourne on Anterior and Posterior Etched Ceramic Restorations: From Beginning to End (July 31 - inclusive of the lecture - to August 2). Hands-on programs are limited attendance, so book early. Earlybird rates apply up to May 25.
