Guru trains the trainers in EQ chic

In September this year, Dr Dana Ackley, US Psychologist, business consultant and author of The Emotional Quotient (EQ) Leader Program, visited Prime Practice in Sydney to present a two-day workshop on consulting and coaching Emotional Intelligence (EQ) leadership skills.

Ever since Daniel Goleman popularised the concept of EQ a decade ago, many companies have become increasingly aware of the high correlation between EQ and business success. In the world of business training, it has become accepted that EQ is that critical factor; it can be measured and it can be improved.

In the context of a dental surgery, your emotional intelligence includes your ability to build rapport, show empathy and communicate effectively with patients. Most experienced dentists would agree that having exceptional clinical skills is not the only predictor for business success and that emotional intelligence plays a large part.
