Gunz expands equipment team

Gunz Dental has expanded its equipment team in New South Wales with the appointment of Mr Michael Raghib. This brings the number of team members to five for the state and 11 nationally.

"Recent growth has prompted us to add a new member to the equipment team," said Paul McGee, Business Unit Manager, Equipment at Gunz Dental. "Michael will look after southern New South Wales whilst Rod Cunningham will look after the north.

"Having two people will give us a greater ability to help customers with their refit projects to completion. Experience tells us that a competent person can only handle 2-3 new surgery projects per month along with other work so we decided to add this extra resource before our level of service suffered.

"We are maintaining our 3 direct service people and hope to find another capable person to join us so that we can not only support our customers warranty expectations but also support our large and increasing national network of trained subcontractors.

"This model has been very successful in Queensland where we have had the territory there managed by two sales people, Phil Fitzgibbon and Jon Mobbs for the past 18 months supported by a technician and several subcontractors. Phil has just decided to move on after 30 years so we will be recruiting to replace him.

"We have also appointed a dedicated equipment person in New Zealand where in the past, the general manager looked after the equipment role. Darshan Desai has a background in dental equipment in India, having worked for several leading equipment manufacturers there.

"This brings the whole team to 11 plus support people including two product managers and two customer service representatives. We now also have showrooms in all states, some of which have been newly renovated and others are waiting their turn.
