The 82nd Annual Greater New York Dental Meeting hosted over 54,000 health care professionals in New York City in November 2006.
Amongst the 1500 exhibitors were two from Australia and one from NZ showing innovative products on the world stage.
Queensland-based Myofunctional Research Co., a regular feature at every major international show for the last several years, attracted much interest in their functional appliances which are used worldwide.
Erskine Dental took their Piksters interdental brush to the US along with several other products including the successful cracked cusp tooth model.
"There's a very small selection of interdental brushes available in the US," said Tim Erskine-Smith. "There are some 34 brands in Australia but only 2 or 3 that are well-known in the US. We found there was a very strong acceptance of Piksters and we were also pleased with the response from hygienists who said they were happy to see a quality product at a reasonable price."
New Zealand-based TrioDent, manufacturer of the breakthrough V-Ring Sectional Matrix System for Class II posterior composite restorations, reported another record breaking show.
"Orders exceeded our previous best show by some 40%, with our team of 5 fully engaged demonstrating the V-Ring. Many dentists who were already enthusiasts of the V-Ring stopped by to help introduce those who were new to the system," said marketing manager James Igglesden.
The 83rd Annual Greater New York Dental Meeting will be held in New York on November 25-28, 2007.
