The 2005 Greater New York Dental Meeting celebrated its 81st birthday with the largest, most successful session to date at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on the banks of the Hudson River.
The six-day event, which kicks off the day after Thanksgiving, combines a comprehensive congress delivering the latest developments in the art, science and business of dentistry with a show featuring some 1400 technical exhibits.
A handful of Australians made the journey halfway around the world to experience winter in the Big Apple along with a crowd of over 42,000 registrants. Attendees were drawn from 49 states of the USA plus Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia. In addition, 2005 brought a large international attendance, with registrants from over 70 foreign nations. In total, over 10,000 dentists from all over the world helped to make this session the largest dental congress in the United States.
