Gendex now available through Ivoclar Vivadent

Distribution News

Following the acquisition of first Gendex (Dec 11, 2003) and then KaVo (Mar 29) by US-based Danaher Corporation, Gendex products will now be available in Australia through Ivoclar Vivadent Pty Ltd, who have distributed the KaVo range for a number of years.

Gendex, headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, USA, is a leading manufacturer of dental imaging products, including intra-oral and panoramic x-ray machines, digital radiography systems, intra-oral cameras and film processors. Danaher purchased Gendex from Dentsply, who previously distributed the product in Australia.

The KaVo and Gendex brands are to be retained as independent brands within Danaher's newly created Dental Division. Danaher is a New York Stock Exchangelisted company headquartered in Washington DC. The company had 2003 sales revenue of over five billion US dollars and has six strategic platforms: Electronic Test, Environmental, Motion, Product Identification, Mechanics Hand Tools and Medical Technology. The company is also engaged in a number of niche markets. Danaher has approximately 30,000 employees, with about 17,000 of these in the USA.

"The Gendex range of imaging products perfectly compliments the KaVo dental units, handpieces, clinical diagnostic and treatment products and laboratory equipment we have supplied and supported in Australia for many years," said Mr Phil Turley, Managing Director of Ivoclar Vivadent Australia. "Gendex is a well known and very popular brand in Australia and we are looking forward to communicating with all existing users to service their needs now and in the future.

"Gendex is also an ideal fit in the overall range of products Ivoclar Vivadent Australia offers to dental practices and dental laboratories and makes us the premier provider of dental medical imaging solutions in Australia. Our customers now have access to a complete and diverse range of digital imaging products from one supplier, ranging from film-based systems up to digital pan/ceph units with tomography options. This unprecedented level of choice ensures that the dentist will always obtain the most appropriate equipment for the surgery."
