GC hires former NSW Dental Chief

Former Chief Dental Officer for New South Wales, Dr Alan J. Patterson, has accepted a position as international marketing manager with GC Corporation in Tokyo, where he is relocating with his family to live.

Dr Patterson graduated in 1975 from Bristol University in the UK with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and emigrated to Australia the following year. He subsequently completed graduate studies in health services management and an MBA in 1994. He has worked in both the public and private dental sectors and was previously a consultant to The Wrigley Company. His research interests include saliva and salivary diagnostics prevention, water fluoridation, community based oral health promotion and aged care. With the new direction GC is taking with Minimal Intervention, Dr Patterson is ideally suited to his new role.
