Five stars for VOCO Grandio

The jury of the US-based Dental Advisor has awarded Grandio, the nano-hybrid composite from VOCO, its top 5-star rating and also granted the product the title of "Editors' Choice".

The clinical evaluation of Grandio was based on 132 restorations placed in 76 patients. A year after the Grandio fillings had been placed, they still retained their appearance while the clinical aspects and aesthetics of 94% of the fillings remained perfect.

Dental Advisor testers determined that thanks to its translucency, Grandio adapts well to the shade of the adjacent teeth to create optimum aesthetics. No filling was seen to have discoloured.

In spite of its high filler content of 87% by weight and the resulting physical advantages such as strength, low polymerisation shrinkage (1.57%) and abrasion-resistance, the nano-composite is very supple, easily contoured and will not stick. As one member of the jury stated: "This is certainly one of the best of the new composites on the market."
