Centaur Software, developers of leading practice management software system Dental4windows, has launched a new consulting division under the Discover brand. Centaur has delivered multi-award winning training and customer support to the largest group of practices across Australia for more than 20 years. Through active consulting to its customer base, the company has amassed a resource of almost limitless experience from every conceivable practice type, particularly in the area of focusing on practice performance.
This initially lead to the launch of its Business Intelligence module for Dental4windows over ten years ago, with the main aim of monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) within the practice. A decade later and Centaur is taking the desire to improve the practices of all its customers a step further with its new Discover consulting division.

According to Tracy Penn, Manager of the new division, this strategic step into the consulting area of practice management has been taken to help those Dental4windows practices we deal with day in/day out, to benefit from these many years of experience we can provide.
"Since late 2013, we're seeing many practices believing a more focussed approach is in order for 2014 and for these practices, this program is perfect to implement such a change," Ms Penn said.
"This exciting new program aims to nurture and support practice principals and their teams in uncovering vital information about their practice by gaining insights
from existing patient flow and the current
patient database. The program shows you what efficiencies and productivity improvements can be made, why they should be made and how they can be made."
The Discovery program will also help practices understand a number of key success factors such as new patient ratios and retention; value of incomplete treatment; strategies to increase treatment acceptance; dealing with FTA/cancelled appointments; production efficiencies; aged debtors and narketing campaigns including recalls and external vs internal campaigns.
"In this increasingly difficult business environment, all these success factors are essential to ensuring practices succeed as businesses," Ms Penn said. "We will review other critical success factors of running a productive and efficient practice but will also provide hands-on help with practical solutions for change and improvement that have come from those many years of working closely with the many successful Dental4windows practices.
