Discover the freedom of Cresco

Astra Tech Australia has launched the unique Cresco method for delivering precisely fitting and highly aesthetic implant-based bridges and overdentures. The system has the ability to correct the casting distortion associated with traditional metalwork and deliver a precisely fitting construction through a method of cutting and laser welding the appliance in the specialised Cresco "jig".

The method was invented more than 15 years ago in Sweden and is platform independent with full freedom in terms of choice of implant system or framework material. The method is suited perfectly for all major implant systems and frameworks can be made in Titanium, Gold Alloy, Chrome Cobalt, and other precious and non-precious alloys.

The Cresco' system allows for angulation of the screw holes of up to 17 degrees, which in difficult cases where the implant position and angulation isn't optimal, enables the technician to reposition the screw hole without using a costly and fixed degree angulated abutment.

By using the Cresco API (All Parts Included) kit, clinicians and laboratories can choose to work directly at fixture level, thereby eliminate costly standard or angulated abutments as well as prefabricated gold components. The kit contains everything necessary, so there is no logistical delay, or worry that the right parts aren't on hand.

All parts necessary for restoring on each implant pillar cost $195 (ex GST), which compares extremely favourably to the alternative of purchasing the implant components from your implant supplier: impression coping, prosthetic screw, lab analogue, lab screw, and bridge support can cost far more than that.

For long term implant survival, researchers from around the world agree that a more passively fitting implant construction reduces stress to the bone; avoids fracture and mechanical failure of the implant components; and improves the long term prognosis.1

Cresco is locally produced and currently available through one of two Australian precision labs. These labs are responsible for the Precisioning process itself, and can either produce the complete case from impression onward, or collaborate with your regular dental technician. All your regular lab would need to do in order to offer Cresco is to attend a few hours of training and become a certified Cresco Method lab.
