Design N Dental has relinquished its sole agencies of major dental equipment supplies to expand into consultancy, design, construction and project management.
"It became increasingly obvious in recent times that helping our clients design and build their practices is where our future lies," said Ms Noelene Mitchell, managing director of Design N Dental. "This side of the business has been growing steadily and it was only a matter of time before we made it our main business.
"We see that more and more dentists are realising that it is prudent to seek specialist advice when they are considering renovating or relocating as it not only saves time, money and headaches, it also creates a far more ergonomic working environment.
"The advantage of using Design N Dental is that you not only get a great looking practice, we also ensure it is ergonomic, designed for efficient workflow and complies with regulations relating to OH&S, infection control, body protected electrical areas, disabled facilities and more."
Ms Mitchell has over 30 years experience in dentistry, spending the first 10 years of her career as a dental assistant followed by a further decade as a Product Manager and State Manager for A-dec Australia. She formed Design N Dental nine years ago to specialise in surgery design, consultancy and major equipment sales.
"Nothing compares with practical experience and until you've worked across the board in dentistry from an operational point of view, you often don't see the complete picture. We now have a very unique offering in the market because we provide both surgery design and construction together with unbiased consultancy on the delivery systems available in dental equipment that can best suit our clients' individual needs.
"We are often confronted with challenging work spaces and clients with long 'wish lists'. The key to making it work is the knowledge of what is available in the market and being able to recommend a solution. To date, this type of service has been unavailable and is a bonus to the overall design process."
