Dental Education Centre will be worth the wait

The new Dental Education Centre being built near Sydney airport is nearing completion and will now be ready for bookings from May onwards. The Centre was slated for completion this month however a delay in commencement of building works has forced the schedule to slip.

"The Dental Education Centre is an exciting development for the profession, providing an independent learning facility that is truly open to all," said Mr Carl Burroughs from Integrated Dental Marketing who is charged with marketing the facility.

"There are hundreds of dental events throughout the year, from small study groups to large congresses but many of these events are held at hotels and other venues ill-equipped to handle the nuances of dental education."

Mr Burroughs said location was a major factor in choosing the site for the Centre and convenience for delegates was paramount. Located less than a kilometre from Sydney Airport, interstate guests will be able to arrive with a minimum of hassle. Both the Stamford and Holiday Inn hotels are within easy walking distance and special accommocation rates have been negotiated with both.

"In the early stages, designing the auditorium was one of the biggest challenges. The concept was to provide perfect sound and vision for every delegate, not just those at the front of the room. This has been achieved by a very clever seating plan, providing each of the delegates with their own workstation in perfect view of the stage. A highly sophisticated surround sound system delivers perfect sound to everyone in the audience and massive double screens provide perfect vision from the overhead projectors.

"Comfort is a key consideration throughout. Each of the 80 workstations will have a comfortable leather director’s chair together with Internet connectivity, a desk lamp and a storage area. The building is also fully secure and your personal belongings are out of harms way."

A fully operational two chair dental surgery is located on the first floor of the facility with a fully equipped A-Dec 500 and an A-dec Radius 1040 for use as the Ortho chair. Critical Dental donated this equipment in association with A-Dec Australia.
