Building work has commenced on the new Dental Education Centre in Sydney with completion planned in time for the inaugural Dental 2005 event in March.
"The purpose designed and built complex is set to be Australia's best equipped and most accessible learning facility," said Carl Burroughs from Integrated Dental Marketing. "Attention to dental is the key incentive as it is clear dentists are fed up with spending days in uncomfortable cheap hotel chairs, watching their bags at coffee breaks and struggling to hear from the back of the room.
"The Dental Education Centre will have 80 work stations with comfortable high back, supportive leather chairs, desk areas fitted with power and internet access and the AV equipment will be truly state of the art including surround sound. No matter where you sit, you'll be able to see and hear the lecture."
The first floor of the Centre will boast two fully equipped and working dental surgeries, courtesy of major sponsors Adec/ Critical Dental. The second floor will be dedicated to catering plus a cocktail lounge with a large deck overlooking the Sydney skyline.
"The centre will be totally independent and open to all with a hope to encourage up and coming speakers to put on events, industry players to have access to a fully functioning facility and to allow sponsors use of the centre for product launches and meetings," Mr Burroughs said.
Bookings for the Centre are now being taken and there are a small number of sponsorships still available.
