In May 2008, Commonwealth Bank launched a new specialist banking division, Healthcare Banking, to provide bespoke financial services to Australia's healthcare industry.
"Healthcare Banking is our latest market specialist unit," said Stewart Creighton, National Manager Market Specialists, Corporate Financial Services, Commonwealth Bank. "The premise is to provide enhanced customer service and tailored financial solutions to specific sectors across the country including Dentists.
"We employ specialists who have experience in other relevant fields like healthcare so that when you talk to us, you'll be talking to someone who understands your business, and is able to help you make the right Asset Finance decisions, whether that be leasing, financing or hire purchase.
"By lending against cash flow, streamlining our processes and offering customers an holistic banking service to meet their business and personal requirements, our specialists are able to develop more valuable relationships."
Mr Creighton said that earlier this year the company had also converted its longstanding strategic alliance with IT and medical asset finance specialists, equigroup (previously known as Computer Fleet) into a 50% shareholding. This comes after a successful ten year alliance with the company and demonstrates a commitment by the Bank, he said, to increase its presence in the Asset Finance market and provide greater financing opportunities for their healthcare industry clients.
"Together, Commonwealth Bank and equigroup provide bespoke financial services and residual value investment linked to the financing of technology dependent equipment, ranging from desktop computers to cone beam imaging systems.
"With operations in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe, we are very well placed to provide solutions to a broad spectrum of domestic and offshore clients.
"And being Australia's largest bank, we are uniquely positioned to deliver stability in the current financial climate. We can offer you a variety of Asset Finance options that are well capitalised and well positioned for future growth - and able to withstand the effect of current market forces - giving you competitive rates, coupled with financial peace of mind.
